We’d love to accompany all of our adventurous travellers on every single trip they do but unfortunately that’s just not possible… So, who’s going to be keeping you company on your trip?
Who Are Your Guides?
The guides, transport and support staff that we use to run your adventure are employed by our partners in each of the destinations in which we run trips. There’s a couple of reasons we do it this way:
- We operate trips in ten countries (and counting) so we’d simply not be able to operate businesses in each and maintain vehicles and everything else that would be required in each place to run trips.
- And, we might have travelled or lived in each of the destinations that we’ve got trips in but that doesn’t make us the experts by any stretch of the imagination. The guides, porters, drivers and myriad other local people you meet on your travels have got the best insights, advice and stories about their country or region.
How We Find The Best People
This one is pretty easy. We only work with people that we’ve either personally travelled with before or have worked with in the past. This way we can be 100% sure that our travellers are going to have brilliant experiences with expert guides.
We don’t operate trips in countries that we’ve not been to ourselves and have met and spent time with all of the partners that we work with around the world. It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!
What Are Our Criteria For Partners?
We’ve got a pretty thorough checklist for what each partner we work with needs to have in place. Some of these are incredibly dull but mean you’ll be as safe as you can be on an active adventure. Other things we consider are more about the vibes… Here’s a very non-exhaustive list of things we look for:
- Whether they’re independent and locally owned. No big international businesses here.
- If they specialise in the type of travel we love. Active and adventurous.
- All of our partners have been doing this for over ten years. It’s not a mandatory criteria but we love the expertise and knowledge that our partners have from having spent so long working in the industry.
- We’ve travelled with all of our partners ourselves or have worked with them in the past so we’ve seen the reviews from other travellers to back up the experience we want to offer you.
- They’ve got all the paperwork. Insurance, licences and everything else required to legally and safely operate trips for us.
- We like spending time with them. Mainly because it’s so easy to chat over the shared passion for travel but also because they’re good people.
There’s a bunch of other things we consider when looking for the right people to work with in each destination but hopefully that gives you an idea!
