Nepal’s a special destination. Not only to us but to anyone that’s been. A trekking mecca where first-time visitors can rub shoulders with climbers taking on the highest peaks in the world. With unbelievably hospitable people, some of the tastiest food on the planet, views that can leave you in a bit of a trance and some hidden cultural gems, we can’t get enough of Nepal.
Don’t be put off if you’re not wanting to take on one of the many multi-day treks that Nepal’s famous for as there’s plenty of other activities on offer. Escape the chaos of Kathmandu for the tranquility of the shores of Pokhara, the temples of Pashupatinath, the array of wildlife in Chitwan National Park or get a taste of trekking on Poon Hill.

If you’ve yet to try a Momo or haven’t had a Thupka on a cold day then you’re in for a treat. From hearty dishes designed to fill you up after a day’s trekking in the mountains to delicate steamed dumplings consumed on a Thamel backstreet, Nepal’s got something to get even the fussiest eater excited.
A traditional meal of lentil soup, rice and assorted side dishes. Normally vegetarian and almost always all-you-can-eat.
Steamed or fried dumplings filled with vegetables or meat (the buff can be hit or miss!) served with a spicy dipping sauce.
Controversial, we know. The name gives away it’s not Nepali but we challenge you to find a better easy picnic than this with boiled eggs.
In Nepal you can expect to stay in locally owned guesthouses and hotels. Don’t expect a chocolate on your pillow or room service but they’ll be well located, comfortable and they’ll all pass our basic test – would we be happy sending our parents there! When trekking, you’ll stay in teahouses, which are normally family run, basic but clean guesthouses in the mountains. They might have shared facilities, are normally twin rooms and provide full board and communal dining. Please note that these are just examples of where you might stay and we don’t guarantee any accommodation based on availability and the fact we’re always on the lookout for new and amazing places to stay.
Here’s a few of our favourite itineraries for Nepal. Whether you’re looking to climb Island Peak, take a bucket-list trip to Everest Base Camp or explore beyond the mountains then we’ve (hopefully!) got the right trip for you. All of our itineraries have been carefully created to give you the most complete experience of this wonderful country.

Don’t be put off by the mazy alleyway or the slightly ‘casual’ surroundings of New Momo Restaurant. There’s a few contenders for where the best place to get momos in Kathmandu is but we’ve yet to find a better one.
